You wait ages for a referendum on Europe -any one will do-, then it looks as though we might have as many as it takes. Or not. Possibly. In the meantime, Jack Straw seems to be putting his shirt on the chance the whole thing might collapse before we ever reach that point, which is actually probably worth a flutter.

(Note to self, on the other hand, see what I can get out of William Hill on a "yes" vote if I punt now.)

In other news, I am a fucking idiot. In both my professional and my personal life. Which doubtless comes as no surprise to any of you.

In fact, I've since discovered yet another piece of idiocy I was carrying out yesterday. Not my finest day, still, no harm done an' all that.

Was the HMS Victory question a trick question or a sloppy one? It was, strictly, Hardy who was captain.

It was a sloppy question. Nelson was the answer they were looking for but we got the point anyway because i mentioned both him and Hardy. I had mentioned that in the blog entry I was writing, except Mum called and I never posted it... :)

yew *are* an idiot if yew bet on 'yes' (despite the bleedin' odds) on the first one cos i really can't see just 'ow blair's gonna rig a win on this 'un. in the lowest turnout of any vote (in our entire 'istr'y) the sun/mail etc will mobilise enuff people ter vote 'no' 'n' (wotever yer opinion) that'll reflect wot people actually want (fer right or wrong).
