And there I was thinking I might be able to score a cheap flight to New York next month for The Thing after all. Apparently not: all of a sudden even Kuwait Air flights to NYC are overbooked.

This, and a variety of other minor irritations both personal and professional, has left me in a grumpy mood, which, I'm sure you'll agree, is highly unusual.

El Greco this weekend still on? When suits you? Most of the weekend is free, though I'm probably going to go and watch the Boat Race.

El Greco: yes, if you want to. I mean, there is a conference here on cuneiform, but I could leave it for a day. If I get accepted, that is, because they might not have any more spaces.

When is the Boat Race? Is it The Boat Race??? (if so, god, I'm really not paying attention to much)

Could I come along at the boat race? (if it's The Boat Race and no other, that is - I must meet a friend now and have no time to check it, damn it). If so, maybe we could go to the exhibition on the same day.

Otherwise, the weekend is free too (well, apart from the conference, that is *grin*)

Yes, is The Boat Race. Is, for some inexplicable reason, at 6PM on Sunday.

Problem is you have to be at the pub in Plenty of Time...
