Godawful miserable day, grim weather, tired, spent too much money on dull things, nothing in brain today, blah.

Just re-read Donna Tartt's Secret History for the first time since shortly after it came out. Sadly disappointing now, I found myself loathing each and every one of the characters, except Camilla...

And my semi-serious plan of joining the Historical Crime Craze by being the first to write a Byzantine Lindsey Davis type thing (I know, not particularly original but it had potential I thought) has been done by some 26 year old while I procrastinated.

I am going to go and get drunk now. I may be some time.

The getting drunk part anyway... I have fond memories of inebriation myself... although being old with an equally and probably older liver [if you consider road miles], I must not...

I was considering the need to escape reality the other day when I realized that prescription drugs and alcohol really are the only things open to those of my age and social standing [meaning, of course, a moderate acquaintance with housing and occupation as opposed to being homeless and indigent... or worse yet, incarcerated]

But I digress... it's a sad sad state of affairs that I, a former recreational drug user, am so very limited in my choices... sux 2 b me....

Oh, btw, I looked back over your LJ entries and I couldn't find it but it sure seems to me that you mentioned [and I discovered] Ludovico Einaudi and Elysium's Auvergne Chants from you... not so?

Anyway... I like 'em both and while I've been able to find Einaudi's [very expensive] cd's available stateside, that's not the case with the Chants... what's up with that?! A conspiracy perhaps?? keep them danged pesky OLD european types away from us forthright and enlightened colonials?

Ah well... have a lovely weekend! and ps.... did I send you the photos of Lauren and family?... so old and my brain pan is leaking... lemme know...

It also occured to me that I could send you an email if only I could find which email addresses I currently have for you are viable... or do you have dozens?... like myself...

Nah, I have no pictures of Lauren either (which is a shame). Never mind, my memory is also falling to bits.
