Yesterday's threatening omens have proved true, and I woke up this morning with a head full of liquid concrete. I rang in to say that I had no intention of leaving my bed all day, and my clerk, having heard about two words, said "well, it doesn't sound like you'd be much use..."

In fact, however, I had to go and buy food, and the library at Swiss Cottage was on the way.. I don't often visit the public library beause I always forget to take the books back, but I seem to have gathered an amful of random things even though I really came in for the free internet access.

I shall now return to my bed and write a diatribe. About what, I have no idea as yet, but I'm in a cranky mood and feel I should make use of it.

there really should be some sort of reminder system or small boy or something to get books back to the library ... i currently have a stack sitting next to my computer that may stay here indefinitely ...

and hot whiskey makes everything better, i'm telling you.

Just getting over my first one - and we're still having 80+ degree days here... Hope you feel better soon. I'm all about hot chocolate and chenille woobies on the sofa when I'm sick.

I have 5 books, 2 videos and 3 cd's that I got from the library in June... of 2002. I forgot about them, found them in March while unpacking from the move, and am now waiting for a "fine free month" to return them...

Bad Faith... very very Bad Faith...

Hopefully you feel better soon.

Does your libary have a contract with collection agencies? They seem to be really good at motivating me to return books and pay my fines.

You`re not the only one. I`ve racked up fines in the region of 30-40 pounds before!
