Sep. 15th, 2003 05:04 pmTired and feeling vaguely depressed, for no apparent reason.
It's gorgeous September weather here in London, yesterday evening was spectacular. I love autumn, but it always leaves me with this vague feeling of indefinable sadness. And my birthday approaching, another year older and deeper in debt. (Drinks in some north London pub the Saturday before, for those who are interested. Details when I've decided on them. There will not, sadly, be bellydancers this year.)
I went to the penultimate night of the proms (interesting new Birtwhistle, decidedly shaky Beethoven 9, but the ninth is always the ninth, which is a singularly unedifying comment but means something to me). I didn't, as I never do, go to the Last Night, as I feel that long ago the "party for the regulars" concept was lost beneath a load of crap. But I did turn up for the most alcoholic punch I've had in many years in the afternoon, before rolling onto first SteveF and then Adele's birthday drinks. Couldn't be arsed to make my way home so I stayed over at Adele's and walked along the South Bank from Tower Bridge, pointedly ignoring That Twat (well, I did, Adele has a strange fascination with it all) and up to Soho for breakfast the next day. BM and then The (Real) Tate, but I have no deep thoughts or new discoveries to report I fear.
Ho hum. At least I've had long conversations with two cute solicitors today, on different cases...

'vague feeling of indefinable sadness..'

So when is your b'day?
