I thought I could complete this job in a morning, instead it's taken me all day. I now suspect the job I thought I could do this afternoon will take all of tomorrow. Which it can't, quite, because at some point I have to put on my little wig and big gown and fly down to the winding up court to oppose an application there. Ho hum.
My main email accounts appear to be shot to pieces. Again. I'm unsure whether the fault lies with Orange, which wouldn't surprise me in the least, or with whatever commercial entity it is that looks after theculture.org for my friend Simon, but I suspect it's the former. It usually is.
Oh, and my printer is chewing up the work I've been slaving over all day, and wasting the ink it seems to burn through implausibly fast. Can nothing work properly?
Bah, humbug.
Reading Stravaganza, a children's book that I've given to a variety of people who appreciate such things but have never done more than flip through myself. It seems quite good, so far.
The cute girl in Coffee Republic smiled at me at lunchtime. Sadly I think that's the most interesting and positive thing that's happened to me all day. And now it's raining again....

It was theculture.org (http://www.theculture.org/) - the server venus.he.net (http://venus.he.net/) that hosts it was down for much of today. I lost not only my email, but also my webpage (http://www.theculture.org/rich/), Ad Astra (http://www.theculture.org/adastra/) and Sharp Blue (http://www.theculture.org/rich/sharpblue/). Fortunately, it all seems to be working now.

yay! little wig!

... for all my lawyer nonsense here in the states I have to wear a suit that makes me look like a man. a little wig would be so much more fun.

Ah, I can't seem to access either 'Adrift..' or 'Sharp Blue'. They keep on trying to download the entire file instead of opening the page.

well, kinda. i've given up the law in favor of abject poverty ... but i was one once.

and the looking silly has it's advantages. i think all lawyer types need to be reminded to keep a bit of a sense of humour about themselves (present company excepted, of course) ...

abject poverty is an improvement, as it allows my soul a bit of breathing room. it was all stifled and choking before.

(see - i need to learn to take myself less seriously too. need a little wig.)
