Ho hum. Long and not especially productive day. Off to sunny Romford tomorrow, for, allegedly, 45 minutes before a circuit judge. Which means wig and gown, oh, hell. If the weather carries on like this I shall have my own little Inferno to carry around with me.
Plus, they've given me a mini-pupil (university student on a sort of equivalent to work experience) which is something of a worry... only a member of Chambers for a few months and they're makingme responsible for people? Bah.

Anyways, am off to Soho House for a spot of drinking with Simon (must must must not get pissed). I leave you with this thought: in what universe does little Timmy Henman deserve a tenth seed for Wimbledon this year?

Hmmm, lessee... last time I was in Soho House, I bumped into a Dr. Who, waved embarassedly at Jarvis Cocker and had to extricate Damon Albarn's head from my cleavage.

None of this was actually my fault - my hostess asked me to identify Mr. Cocker who was having a quiet pint with Mr. Albarn and shoved me so close that poor Damon had a soft landing for the back of his head.

Peter Davidson is much shorter than you'd think as well...

I read that there's been discussion on whether or not to do away w/ the traditional wigs, gowns, &c.

Yeah, technically we're in a consultation period. Likely option is to keep gown but lose wig. Which gets my vote, actually.
