Date: 2003-06-12 04:28 am (UTC)Incidentally, is it bad that the fact Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel are playing is somewhat more of a draw to me than the fact that the Manics will be whining their way through a set again?

Date: 2003-06-12 05:04 am (UTC)Admittedly, you'll have to wait another four days, and it might go over the £160 mark, but it's looking all right at the moment.

Date: 2003-06-12 05:33 am (UTC)You're right, broadly, but the temptation is that in the context of my financial situation right now, 300 quid for the two feels as though it's neither here nor there.... kind of like saving one raindrop in the Sahara...
Have not done anything. Problem is my option is secure until Sunday evening, so I have to avoid temptation that long.

Date: 2003-06-12 05:58 am (UTC)I'm guessing they'll come down in price over the next few days. You certainly won't have any probs picking one up for around £175.
I'd suggest looking to see if there are any single tickets where the auction ends between 9-(roughly)12 on friday (ie tomorrow) morning. eBay goes down for maintenance then, and lots of people don't realise. So you get your offer in at 8.45, the site goes down, and people can't get their sniping done which drives the prices up in the closing seconds.
Like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3611740367&category=1307) and this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2178793568&category=10049) for example.

Date: 2003-06-12 06:56 am (UTC)As someone who is also crap with money (but luckily doesn't have expensive tastes, and also possesses a joint account) I think you should practice enjoying the luxury of sacrifice. Think of it as asceticism, if that's a word. Plus, have you not already arranged to go to the tennis on Glastonbury weekend?

Date: 2003-06-12 07:12 am (UTC)Neil wossname from Divine Comedy once cancelled a Glastonbury gig at the last minute on the basis he had to watch Henman play. The fact it was one of the Wet Years, and Somerset was a mudbath was, he said, beside the point..
