I was going to go and see To Kill a King tonight, partly in some kind of perverse desire to not be going to see The Matrix Reloaded. Obviously I shall go and see that eventually, though I've heard many bad things about it (or things that seem bad to me: I'm sceptical about films that try self-conciously to be Philosphically Deep, too often they end up being turgid, boring and the philosophy is fairly basic stuff anyway). TkaK has also had shite reviews actually, but it's still higher on my to see list, along with I Capture the Castle and the Helena B-C thing, than MR. Anyway, Steph just called me to say she was ill, so it'll have to be another night.

Vaguely thinking about the good read books still. I was thinking about working out what my personal favourite 100 books were, but it varies, and it's too much work, frankly. And I've been working on a tax planning job all day which has given me a blinding headache. What evil bastard at Channel 4 decided to put Six Feet Under on opposite 24 by the way? I really need a video recorder.

If it helps, I found it very easy to ignore all the philosophizing in Matrix Reloaded, and just had fun watching all the neat visual tricks. It was worth it just for that, I think.

yeah...you can ignore the talking most of the time (and luckily keanu reeves has virtually no lines)...but the fight scenes are just awesome...and the soundtrack is good in a pump you up kind of way (good in small doses:) i think this movie is more of a set-up for the third - in an empire strikes back kind of way....but thats just my humble, i love good fight scenes in even the stupidest of movies, opinion :)

Make that 2 video recorders so I can tape both during my holiday in DC. The cynic in me suspects a cabal to increase dvd sales.

True, far far superior. A possible solution regarding 24 is to watch the 3in1 repeats when they show about 3 hours back to back every so often. Kim must die!
