"Well, I'm back," he said.
Jan. 2nd, 2004 07:10 pmHappy New Year, somewhat belatedly. Had a very good Christmas and quiet New Year with parents. Small children not too annoying and didn't last long, only had one shouting match (with my mother, about the relationships of characters in The Archers and whose memory was more rubbish), lots of good presents, including a bottle of spectacularly good and, I suspect, seriously expensive Scotch from my brother and his wife, and the catalogue to the Lloyd-Webber exhibition from Kate. Oh and a tax demand from Her Majesty's Commissioners of Inland Revenue chiz chiz.
I don't really have time to comment on the 240 or so posts by the lot of youse since I last looked in. Actually, that isn't quite true as it seems no one wants to play tonight, but I'm buggered if I'm going to spend Friday evening sitting in an internet cafe.
I have various things to write about myself, including conclusions on Jackson's Lord of the Rings; board games with specific reference to Cluedo; pheasant; and madeira; but I shall save them up otherwise I shall run out of topics with which to bore you by March.

Date: 2004-01-02 01:03 pm (UTC)I'm rather put out I don't have anything about pheasant and madeira to read about. It's been frightfully dull 'round these parts and that all sounds at least marginally interesting.
So don't go saving too long. All the relevant details will go missing.

Date: 2004-01-06 09:19 am (UTC)The horrific truth I discovered last night, in the course of the entire tower of books in my room falling down and my rediscovery of the Guide to the Archers, is that she was actually right.
