Sometimes when I work at home I actually, y'know, do work. At home.

Other times I don't precisely work but nevertheless do productive things, such as tidy the flat, or do my accounts.

And then there are the days, like today, when I'm supposed to be reading the Law Commission report on Partnerships.

I think some of those pictures aren't straight. Maybe I should do something about that before doing any work.

Hahaha. I am also working from home. I am preparing for my interview. Eeep.

The only reason I am relatively well-informed about politics is because I often work from home (like today), and we have broadband. Which, you know, is more attractive than writing sodding thesis corrections.

I get a lot of genuine work done at home for the exact same reason (that and not having students knocking on the door every five minutes). But, as you point out, it is mightily dull.

I used to clean the flat on days like that. In college, particularly, and in the month or so before the exams, the place would be spotless.

Yeah, and I'm "working" at work.

How about being frustrated (http://www.scenta.co.uk/reverse) instead?

This (http://www.andyfoulds.co.uk/amusement/economists.htm) is just plain weird. I'll stop now - internet dross won't get your work done :)

That's great! I got to level 5 with no failures, then stopped. Maybe being left-handed helps?

*impressed* Maybe so, perhaps something about using the other side of the brain?

I blame my total crapness on the sensitivity of my laptop touchpad ;)

I'm sure that on level 20 it was saying I hit the walls when I hadn't. It took almost half an hour to finish the whole thing.

I am in awe of your persistence.

I started again using my other hand but at level seven I managed to overcome the obsession (or persistence) and stop.

How about a prayer or two to the patron saint of procrastinators to entertain you? (http://www.luckymojo.com/saintexpedite.html) After all, one should surely place one's faith before the pursuit of earthly goods...

You never quite got round to it? Heh. I only learnt about him a few days ago from LJ: The Great Educator. How much would your average Catholic know about patron saints, anyway?

argh. at least when I'm working from home, I'm usually using google image search to trawl for pretty pictures (neo-classicism now, rococo this afternoon)

still only get about half as much work done as if I was in an office where people would be able to see that I'm really faffing around looking at eighteenth century cartoons... I often end up getting _more_ done when I'm at home.

This is in between wandering around, picking CDs, making tea, and noodling on the guitar. And yet, productivity increases.
