The emphasis is being put very much on Hair's offer. There seems less attention being paid to the fact Doug Cowie replied saying they were considering the offer and it wasn't until Malcolm Speed stepped in they decided the whole thing was "inappropriate". Personally I genuinely can't come to any conclusions about the thing generally.
