Via Sbp and Moviehole the news that Twin Peaks season two, which I still consider one of the best TV dramas yet made, is finally to be released on DVD later this year. Entirely by coincidence I started watching my box set of season 1 last night as I'm currently more in the mood for that than continuing to make my slow way through the complete Buffy box set. And it all comes flooding back...

Animaniacs volume 1 is out next month as well hurrah.

Twin Peaks v Buffy?

Knock out for Buffy, I'd say.

But then I lost interest in Twin Peaks sometime in series two, as far as I recall.

Does Twin Peaks bear re-watching?

Absolutely, again and again in my book, more than Buffy much as I love the latter. But, as ever, YMMV. Twin Peaks was always very very much my kind of thing. Besides, neither of the box sets are going away. I don't watch tv live very much any more, just ration myself to one episode of something a night.

I think most people lost track a bit in S2, but it was still damn fine TV.

Weirdly, on the Moviehole page, there's an ad for "all 3 seasons on DVD". ???

Still, I now get to make herself happier, which is good.

Well, there was always supposed to be more, first another series, then another film (which was ditched when Fire Walk With Me bombed), then increasingly daft ideas such as the projected X Files cross over. Maybe Lynch has sekritly made the balance. Or not.

Twin Peaks was the greatest TV seies ever. That fact that it also had a number of stunningly beautiful women in the cast is purely coincidental. Hopefully the reissue will mean that in future, my referances to the owls not being what they seem won't have my colleagues calling for the men in white coats anymore.

I can't decide if I should be thrilled or terrified. I love Twin Peaks but it ALWAYS gives me horrible, Bob-filled nightmares.

I've been meaning to rent "Fire Walk With Me" for ages now - must get around to it.
