Weekend Summary
Apr. 7th, 2003 05:39 pmFeeling a bit down. Not sure why.
Good weekend. Drinking in St Katherine's Dock most of Saturday, followed by finally convincing at least some of the clique to go out to dinner in loverly North London instead of rubbish West London.
Sunday went to watch the boat race: bloody freezing and none of the others turned up, but at least we won and for the second year running it was actually worth watching. Then to Rob & Steph's for dinner, which was fab (thanks Rob). And K was there with B and I didn't sulk or anything, at least I don't think so, which is a first.
Sodding horse in the National: ok, the National is always a bit of a lottery frankly, and it isn't my favourite even of NH races (as any fule kno, 'tis the flat season which is Real Racing) because of the death toll, but when your horse actually leads for two thirds of the race and you can see a goodly bit of cash coming your way, it's a bit irritating to see it all fall apart at the penultimate fence.
Tomorrow I appear in a magistrates court. Hmm. This isn't supposed to happen and I am not entirely sure how it did. I shall have to retrieve my criminal litigation manual, which is something of a problem as it currently holds up part of my desk at home.
Philip Pullman is to produce a short story pendant to His Dark Materials. Frankly I am sceptical, it smacks of a cash in. Yes of course I shall buy it.
