Well, They've Had A Bad Few Days

Tube driver this morning's monotone announcement:
"Kings Cross Station is still closed, this train will not be stopping at Kings Cross."

Passengers in my carriage, unanimously:
"Well we hope not as we're currently on the Charing X Branch platform at Euston and you'd have to reverse back to Camden to go to Kings X from here."

He repeated it just as we came into Warren Street too. I'm worried.

Finished Olympos last night. Jury is still out but I'm afraid we're veering towards "Eh". Overly confused.

No no, I just meant would be very difficult to talk about what I was getting at without spoilers.
It has the structural problems of Fall of Hyperion rather than the "being rubbish and making a mess of the earlier books" problems of Endymion.

I do think Hyperion was a better sequence, at the moment.

I'm with you on its standing between Hyperion and Endymion.

A re-read may be a good plan but for now I've moved on to Michael Marshall (Smith)'s crime/thriller series (The Straw Men, The Lonely Dead, Blood Of Angels) whilst Lat re-reads Ilium (I told her it was a good idea) and then reads Olympos.

No, I don't think so. It was a "the next station is closed" announcement, definitely.
I'm sad for the dead people, and their family and friends. London and most of us who live here are fine.
