Wow - I knew there was a Lightning Seeds album I had lost... And now, thanks to iTunes store thing, it's in my "ouch my head hurts" playlist!

My hangover tune is "Perfect Day" by Robin Auld. Unfortunately NOT available on iTunes - and unless you live in SA, may not be available in your local music store. Shame really, as it's a cool tune that makes me smile!

Is that a different song from Lou Reed's Perfect Day (later covered by Everyone for the BBC)?

Pure remains probably the best Lightning Seeds song ever.

yes - Robin released it in the uk as "Today's the Day" because it was unfortunately at the same time as the BBC/Lou Reed release recently.

I think I have to agree about Pure - although I've not listened to some of it for a while. I always had a soft spot for "All I want".

Went to an excellent Lightning Seeds gig once - at London Astoria in Tottenham Court Road - must have been 1994?

1994 was their high point really: about the time Jollification was released, And then Clueless used Change a year later. They never really produced anything equivalent again, unless you count Three Lions.

I think so. I think the popularity died somewhat after the poor performances in Euro96.

Website says they are on an "elongated break" but Ian Broudie has also just started on a promotion of solo stuff.

Still - I like to have music that I can fix on a particular time of my life - this one ties down a 8 month period rather well!!
