Bust laptop again (ac-in socket, which has been increasingly dodgy for a while, finally went, problem compounded by fact I haven't been able to make linux understand when it's running on battery).

Ah well. I uploaded a bunch of photographs of my holidays, but not the index page, just before it went: if you're that bored this is what I look like after several hours travel and no shower (I leave it to you to work out where the rest are).

Rather more worthwhile are:
Today In Alternate History and The Interactive Fool's Map of the World (both courtesy of th inimitable This Isn't London.

ETA: Oh and, from Fionna the results of adding dry ice to blue toilet acid at 33,000 ft. Marvellous.

that is a beautiful picture. only second in beauty to this one (http://www.liadnan.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IstanbulSorrent2004/IstanbulSorrent2004003.jpg).

The mean and moodiness is somewhat ruined by the bless wee cat having a snooze on your lap :)

It took me a while to notice the cat - I was too busy envying the location and the ciggie....

I can't say I would disagree with her :) Quite wish I could get away with the same thing really...:P

Only nine photos? Number 3 is my favourite though. :)

There's 61 photos! Make sure that the number after 2004 in the link URL is a three digit number.

eg: 2004010.jpg rather 20040010.jpg

That should do it.

Are thumbnails too much to ask for, Marcus? Or at least access to the directory so I can just click on each photo's link. Damn I'm lazy.

Nicely seedy. I do like the James Bond touch with the white cat. If I was my mother, at this point I'd be throwing my hands up in horror whilst exclaiming that you could have caught rabies or anything. Luckily I'm not.

I dig the photo of you and the kitty! =o)

Thanks for posting The Fool's Map! Too fun!

Seeing photos of oneself taps dark wells of vanity within. What possessed me to have my mouth hanging open in such unappealing fashion in the Kurdish headgear shot? Ew! Good to see the Jesus top in fine fettle, though. (The one in the minibus isn't so bad - where was that, on the way back from the airport??) You're inspiring me to get my own pics up and running. The only incriminating one of you I have is this cheesy group shot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/taboulita/cheesygroupshot.jpg)...

Oh, and...

On the subject of foolish maps, I got teenagers to draw maps of the world from memory for my doctoral research. The results defied belief. Asia, omitted altogether. Europe, twice the size of Africa. The British Empire world view is alive and well in Australia...

aaaah

I like no. 6 (not for any other reason, but because it was part of a seminar in Roman art and we had to go through all the relevant bibliography...)

And no.1 (of course!)

(but I was too distracted by the cat picture to really notice.... *grin*)

I also like number 6 because you can see the back of Steph in the right hand lower corner exclaiming at it. Also I really like numbers 26 and 32 because of aesthetic value.

Ooh. Well it looks like Steph(!) - it is wearing a white shirt and longish cream skirt - and "exclaiming" at the bottom right hand corner of the picture.

Great photos.

Do you normally have that affinity for cats? Do cats jump in your lap wherever you go?

unfortunatly i can't figure out how to get to the other pictures - yet that first one is quite nice...you look oddly badass, only with a cat in your lap...

and as long as you dont spill gin and tonic and/or tea and honey on your laptop anything is fixable (not that i did that or anything...)
