John Snow really has lost it

From Snowmail, the daily Channel 4 (UK) news roundup (signup here; thanks to Steve for the link a while back):
"London's Gherkin opens:
=======================
Nicholas Glass is ploughing around the Gherkin. Indeed he's been inside it. I suspect a rather more comfortable experience than having a gherkin inside him. I've always found Gherkins more than a little testing. But in the good old days before the Berlin Wall came down, if you went to Poland the only thing you could find on the shelves of the supermarket were a morass of tins and jars of gherkins - hence the prejudice."
(NB Editor's note -- the 'Gherkin' is the Norman Foster-designed skyscraper that now adorns the city of London skyline -- watch the show and you'll see why they call it the 'Gherkin')
(On the Gherkin, I refer you to a point Martin graphically made a while back.)

I have a hearing tomorrow that is going to be an utter shambles. Joy.
Oooh, thunder.
