One thing I didn't catch on the radio this morning was Lord Donaldson, former Master of the Rolls, pointing out that for Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Home Affairs to describe publicly the decision of a judicial tribunal, the SIAC, as "bonkers" is hardly appropriate. The Mail apparently headlined the story as "Now We Release Terrorists" or something equally asinine (a prisoner who has never faced trial has been committed to house arrest, the Crown having failed to come up to the very low standard of proof required to keep him in when the court found he was suffering severe psychiatric problems). I take it that the Mail is all for abolition of the presumption of innocence then.

Actually, why do I bother criticising the Mail. It's like yr man, wossname, Sisyphus.

In other news, Shirley Porter has agreed to settle at £12.3M on the claims brought against her by Westminster City Council (in BVI). That's... very interesting. To me, anyway.
