Yes: in a deliberate answer to The Passion, Life of Brian is being re-released.

I think that's an absolutely splendid idea. In fact, they should show them back to back.

A monk I used to know, and a fine and wise fellow he was, used to say that Life of Brian was one of the most important religious films ever made, and that everyone who professed Christianity should watch it.

If only to ensure that people going to see the Gibson film will have a counterpoint of 'welease Bwian' and 'I'm Brian and so's my wife' rattling though their heads throughout the film. Livens it up immeasurably, I found.

Indeed. I will actually go and see the Gibson epic, but I fully expect to have, during the crucifixion scene about which I have already been warned, "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" running through my head anyway.

I'm assuming they'll be opening it in the UK as well, though I think the article only talks about the US, particularly your own home of LaLa Land. I've never seen it in the cinema either.

When I was at school in Germany, we were shown Life of Brian in RE class.
