Jan. 12th, 2004 12:12 pmTired... so tired.
Friday night I had nothing planned, until Clanwilliam rang and suggested a drink with her and G. In and of itself this was a fine idea, but I found myself wishing on Saturday morning that I (a) hadn't drunk so much; (b) had eaten something; or (c) both.
Once I'd recovered enough to stop hiding my head under the pillow and pushing my forehead against the wall (which, as any fule kno, stops hangovers) I went off to Oxford for the Corpus Gaudy. Which was fun, and involved good food and much, much, drinking, until gone 3 AM, then more drinking on Sunday (mini pub crawl of The Bear, the Lamb and Flag -some ridiculous idea of Alan and Joff's about finding a particular track on a jukebox that proved not to exist- and the Eagle and Child).
All in all a good weekend. The downside was that I discovered that the association of people and place raised more than one ghost I had hoped was laid. I shall be enigmatic and no more specific than that: a handful of you might have some clue about the people part of what I mean, the other part was more about the place and me.
Anyways, I crawled back on the Citylink and should have gone to bed: instead I watched Midsomer Murders. Is it just me or is each episode sillier than the last? Or do the rest of you (or those of you with access to it) have better taste than to watch it?
