Oct. 13th, 2003 10:49 amBack at work, despite still feeling rubbish. Now all I need is some work to do... At least the refit of the clerks' room is completed, which means no more drilling overhead, however, the shiny new network is still so much useless fibreoptic spew, while the designers of the new website (the address of which I have no intention of revealing) have been told rather bluntly to go back to the drawing board, and to use the English language in some aproximation of the way the clients of expensive barristers might expect it to be used this time. At some points just using something recognisable as the English language would be an improvement.
I'm vaguely wondering whether there's a "try and be funny" competition running between staff on the London Underground. The platform announcer at KingsX Picadilly Line southbound, one of the most crowded points of the network in the morning rush hour, was singing "allow passengers off the train first and move right down inside the cars please". The one at Holborn was merely doing so in a cheery yodel and therefore loses points.
The outright winner would be the one at TCR who does an uncanny impression of Bluebottle, save for the fact I strongly suspect it's not intentional.
