In not entirely related news, I have just discovered the perils of working too hard on a case: you run the risk of discovering a cunning, nay brilliant, sneaky, unanswerable, argument. For your opponent.

In entirely unrelated news, I have a wibble about Stuff sitting on my laptop but Chambers is relying on pigeon post for communication once more so it'll have to wait.

Chambers has a new pupil. This is something of a Watershed Moment for me. I came to my current Chambers as a Second Six pupil. (For the benefit of those now completely lost, after completing the bulk of your academic and professional training as a barrister there is a requirement to spend a year, in two six month blocks to which slightly different rules apply as, essentially, an apprentice. After that you are qualified, and may or may not be taken on by the set that trained you, or a completely different set. Clear now?)

After I'd finished they kept me on for another six months "with a view" and then took me on. But for a year and a half I have been, one way or another, the most junior body in Chambers. Now I'm not. Hmmm.

In utterly unconnected news of general application, I'm in a marginally better mood. But only marginally.

And in news with only passing familiarity with the concept of relevance, I've just discovered the completely unpublicised livejournal account of someone I know on a random search...
