Had lunch in hall with Steph's sister Liz... I always find that eating a full meal at lunchtime makes me want to fall asleep for the rest of the afternoon. Unfortunately, I can't: I've wasted the last hour sitting in the waiting room for the Bankruptcy Registrar; I have to give advice by telephone in about an hour; there's a chap coming to see me about scarymegahuge drafting job; and a variety of other bits and pieces that really need doing before the week is over.
Had a quick drink with K last night, as she's off to Italy to dig for a couple of weeks this weekend, 'twas fun. And I'm slowly managing to do things like unpack and do the washing (I was running out of clothes, ok).
I also thought it would probably be a good plan to buy a new hairbrush after three weeks of relying on simply running my fingers through it after a shower, and to remove the nail varnish from my middle finger (no, I have no intention of explaining that).
Ah the grim realities of day to day life.

Two years ago today, around now, I had just come back from my holiday in Greece and Istanbul. I was having coffee with K. when I overheard the garbled and, it seemed, insane, conversation coming from the next table...
Afterwards, walking through Central London, I remember every pub being packed out of the doorways, watching TV showing the same images, in dead silence, and looking up as fighters flew over.... wondering who of the people I know from the legal and financial world of the City of London might be on Wall Street... re-subscribing to the Culture to see how the Washington and NYC people were...
A mad world, my masters...
R.I.P.
