I had a horrible moment when I came back from lunch. I was checking through the pile of outstanding briefs on my desk, when my eye was caught by a set of instructions... "counsel is instructed to appear at the N county court on 8th August at 10:30."
I'm not sure why, but for a full minute and a half I was convinced that was today, and that I had committed the ultimate, unforgiveable, professional sin: forgetting a hearing and failing to attend without giving good reason.
That was an hour and a half ago and I can still feel the remnants of the adrenalin coursing through my bloodstream. Perhaps I should have a little lie down.
Went out for a drink with someone I met the other day last night, had a surprisingly good time considering we hardly knew each other.
Current music: really rather good actually. Quite surprisingly so.

I hadn't actually heard what anyone else had to say about it.
It's admittedly a bit of a curates egg. But there are enough really good tracks to make up for the duff ones in my book. And yes, I also love her voice.

That's actually a rather good point which honestly hadn't occurred to me.
Maybe I should go home, my grasp on the distinction between reality and hypothesis clearly isn't what it should be today, which is a dangerous position for a lawyer.

er,my excuse was that i thought it was on a different day. i don't know why i thought it was on a different day, but...i did. and i work in a movie theater.

Having listened to it again, it's quite noticeably Eurythmics revisited. Particularly, Pavement Cracks, which is a brilliant song.
