I can only echo your subject line. I would have thought this is exactly the sort of poem we ought to be teaching to teenagers - many of them will be struggling with the feelings of powerlessness and boredom the poem describes, and for the rest, it's always a worthwhile exercise to try and think your way inside the skull of someone whose behaviour seems alien. I can almost hear in my head how my Dad would teach it, or Housemate T. Is it that we don't trust teachers enough?
