Ended up buying a far too wide variety of books, all of which I shall probably witter about as I go through them in turn, but the one I'm most interested in is a small press thing called Kalpa Imperial: the greatest empire that never was by an Argentinian woman called Angelica Gorodischer. The blurb talks about Borges, Calvino and Kafka, but one thing really caused me to buy it. Well, two really: firstly, Ursula leGuin thought it was good enough to spend ages translating it; and secondly, to put the same point in a distinct light, Ursula leGuin translated it.
I have a good feeling about this.
Must dash.
