But if they stick with you, or there isn't the time to instruct someone else, you just get on with it. If you can't do that then this is perhaps not the profession for you.
You mention earlier doing the job 'to the best of your ability'; in a case where the principle repelled you, would you still do the best possible job, or would you just do the minimum required? I'd be tempted to do the job, but - not do it badly, but not put everything I had into it. Thus increasing the chance that the side I actually agreed with would win.
