Bah. Navigate your way as you might around the Treasury page, all you will find is loads of guff. Where are the bloody numbers?

Oh well, I guess I'll find them eventually. So far as I can make out he hasn't actually done a huge amount. Loads of stuff frozen. Except increase cigarette duty by 8p on 20, the bastard.

Oh, hang on, the numbers are there now, under Full Report. Hmm. This is a serious document, you know, hard facts, figures and stuff. Do we really need headings like "Fairness and Prudence" as a heading in this kind of table?

You didn't go to any of those lovely marketing events hastily prepared by accountants on the same day? Enraptured by the accountants I went to see (who dressed up following a theme of budget through the ages, including musical clues) I decided to go home, armed by inadequate notes. Now to wait to see whether any CLT lectures contain much reference to the B. Or plough through all the stuff in *taxation*. urgh.

I came out of it with the useful information on the increased nil rate band. But perhaps (I know) I glossed over quite a bit.

And I don't think the political guff serves much purpose in the detailed technical briefing, either, but YMMV.
