Praise the Lord for it is Friday. Or do something anyway. I am about to leave Chambers, I am not taking any work whatsoever with me, and I have no intention whatsoever of coming in.

My friend Jen, who I see far too rarely, is down for the weekend to cox in the Head of the River race, so tomorrow is likely to be something of a binge. Tonight, I am just going to quietly go home and lie on the sofa wrapped in a quilt in front of mindless television with a pizza, a bottle of Metaxa and a packet of cigarettes or similar.

Yes, I know, I'm a young man (for values of young which include 30) about Camden Town, working in the City of London where the streets are paved with gold, and it's a Friday night, I should be going clubbing. Well, fuck that for an idea.
